[BSOVisualisationStudio] Visualisation (end user guide)

Monitor images are visualization images that do not display the plant from the physical perspective, but rather from a logical one.

Monitor images,

  • provide information which business processes are active on which parts of the plant (production order, picking order..).
  • display the most important information from the business objects (quantity, number of units, target information...),
  • show which functions are currently being executed on the plant.

This information is displayed using process module images:

The process module image (1) is represented in the form of a rectangle with different areas:

Functions

Active functions (2) are displayed at the bottom right. You can influence the active function by using the context menu or the control dialog. Functions are started either by workflow nodes if the process module was occupied by a workflow group or in the semi-automatic mode.

Occupation through workflow groups

In the Bussines object area(3) the most important information about the current business process is displayed. Using the context menu under the category "Production, Planning & Logistics" you can open the corresponding business object (e.g. navigation to the production order, delivery note,...).

The connection to the business object data is made indirectly through the workflow group that this process module has occupied (read more on this in the run-time behavior section). o view the active workflow whose workflow group has occupied this process module, open the workflow dialog using the context menu.
Conversely, if no business object data is displayed, no workflow is active either.

The occupation of the process module by the workflow group can also be cancelled by executing the reset command using the context menu. Attention: Workflow groups that have been processed perform this reset themselves. Therefore, this command is only necessary in exceptional cases if the workflow is no longer loaded!

Active workflows can also be viewed and influenced as an alternative in process control.

Temporarily disabling a process module

To prevent workflow groups from occupying a specific process module, use the context menu to switch the operating mode to manual operation. The yellow "Manual Mode"-Symbol (4) appaers.

Alarms

Alarms are signalled by the yellow warning triangle.

Functions can be started manually without the use of workflows. To do this, select the process module image and open the control dialog. Switch to the functions tab and select the function in the function list (1) you want to start:

Functions can be started with different parameter sets. In the parameter set list (2), select the corresponding parameter set.

Fill in the necessary process parameters in the parameter list (3) and start the function with the button "Start function". Note: The button is released when all mandatory parameters are filled in and the function is not active  (blue/gray color) . After the function is successfully started, the color changes to  green

Complex values

Some parameters that cannot be entered as text or numbers because they are complex data structures and have to be edited with a suitable editor (e.g. Routing data). In such a case, press the Button "Edit complex value" (5).

Color symbolism

The state machine of a function is implemented according to the ISA-S88-Standard. The states are symbolized according to the following color scheme:

Exception: If an alarm occurs, the function becomes  RED  and overrides the normal state color!

[Terms] that are set in rectangular brackets are commands that you execute using the context menu.

Attention: Not every function supports all states and transitions.

Reset command

The reset command is allowed for most states and depends on the implementation of the corresponding function. "Reset" will cause the function to transit to the "Idle" state. A "completed" signal is sent to the calling workflow node. The workflow node is terminated and the workflow process continues to run.

"Reset and repeat" command

Same function as the "reset" command. In contrast to the "reset" command, however, the calling workflow node is retriggered and this function is repeated again.

Parameter changes

Parameters that were sent with the start can be changed later, as long as the function is still active.

To do this, open the control dialog on an active function and switch to the "Param." tab. Change the corresponding parameter values and then press the "Send changed Parameters" button.
